Delta Crew credited for saving flight

Delta Flight Crew from Flight # 27 was praised for their heroic efforts on Flight # 27.  THe flight was enroute from Frankfurt to Atlanta when a terrorits threatend to detonate an explosive device on the plane.  Captain Mark Mathews and the On Board Leader Beate Brandl are commended for their actions during the flight and the emergency landing in Ireland.  The crew was awarded the highest Aviation Award for going above and beyond the call of duty.   This is Beate Brandl’s fourth lifetime award since starting to work for Delta Air LInes in 1988.  Supervisor Shannon R. stated that most employees will go through their entire career without receiving this award.  Beate Brandl made news previously for helping a dying woman by continuing on with the woman to ensure that she would get home to her children in Texas.  Beate had already completed a 17 hour duty day and continued on with the ill passenger to Texas.
